Dissertation Topic: Flood dynamics amid evolving climate conditions

Research Statement: I’m a prospective Ph.D. student in the Geography program at the University of Florida, specializing in flood dynamics, climate change interactions, and the biases inherent in home detection algorithms. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and am currently completing a Master’s degree with a specialization in Geographic Information Systems. My research combines advanced GIS techniques with quantitative modeling to analyze and predict flood dynamics amid evolving climate conditions. This work is aimed at informing sustainable urban planning and developing effective disaster mitigation strategies for regions vulnerable to extreme weather events.
