Abstract: The escalating frequency and intensity of weather-related events, such as wildfires in California and severe hailstorms over the Midwest, have amplified the impact of climate change on homeowners and businesses across the United States. This places a significant emphasis on the role of the insurance industry in today’s world. However, grappling with the diverse impacts of climate-related risks, including physical, liability, and transition risks, poses a persistent challenge for insurers, necessitating an innovative approach to address the uncertainty surrounding climate risk. This presentation will offer an overview of the evolving landscape of catastrophe and climate-related risks and how the insurance industry is addressing these risks to foster a more resilient future.

All are welcome to attend.
