Dr. Jeanne Fillman-Richards, a distinguished figure in the field of environmental consulting and assessment, has dedicated an illustrious 35-year career to the preservation and enhancement of our natural world. As the President of Storm L. Richards & Assoc., Inc., she has been a driving force in environmental excellence. Dr. Fillman-Richards embarked on her academic journey at the University of South Carolina, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology, Geography, and Psychology in 1971. Her thirst for knowledge led her to the University of Florida, where she earned her Master of Arts in Geography, Archaeology, and Geology in 1982, followed by a Ph.D. in Geography in 1990. These academic milestones laid the foundation for her remarkable career. Her deep commitment to environmental issues became evident with her dissertation work during her Ph.D. studies. In 1986, she founded Storm L. Richards & Assoc., Inc., a firm specializing in environmental consulting and assessment. Under her visionary leadership, the company has flourished and gained a reputation for its unwavering dedication to environmental responsibility. Dr. Fillman-Richards holds numerous registrations, including Certified Environmental Consultant (C.E.C.) and Certified Environmental Inspector (C.E.I.), reflecting her commitment to upholding the highest standards of environmental practice. She is an active member of prestigious organizations like the National Association of Environmental Professionals International (N.A.E.P), the International Society of Technical & Environmental Professionals (I.N.S.T.E.P), and the Florida Environmental Assessors Association, where she has played an influential role in advancing environmental practices on a national and international scale. Her contributions to the environmental field extend beyond her impressive list of registrations and affiliations. Dr. Fillman-Richards is also a registered member of the National Register of Environmental Professionals and the Register of Professional Archaeologists, highlighting her expertise and dedication to her craft. Her leadership has made a lasting impact on organizations such as the Florida Archaeological Council, the American Association of Geographers, and the Florida Society of Geographers, where she served as president three times, shaping both her career and the environmental community.
