Dissertation Topic: From Frozen Hazards to Community Solutions: Investigating Freezing Rain in a Changing Climate alongside Local Climate Action Plans
Research Statement: My research is primarily focused on a quantitative analysis of historical freezing rain patterns across Eastern North America, followed by applying those events and patterns into a pseudo late 21st century climate, allowing for analysis on projected changes to this extreme weather. I also focus on local climate action plans and community engagement, discovering how communities are engaged within climate action, and how mitigating and adapting to climate change can also be used as a tool to fight inequity within regions.
