Dissertation Topic: The Impact of Human Mobility on Business Dynamics: A Geospatial Analysis
Research statement: I am a researcher specializing in human mobility, geospatial analysis, and economic resilience. My work explores how consumer visitation to small and large businesses varies across space and time, particularly in response to disruptions like the COVID-19 pandemic. I use spatial data, demographic indicators, and mobility records to understand how neighborhood characteristics influence access and behavior. I also apply network analysis to construct brand networks based on co-visitation patterns, revealing how businesses are interconnected through consumer movement. My research aims to uncover structural inequalities in urban systems and inform strategies for equitable planning, small business support, and resilient local economies.
