Our Senior Profile for UF Geography today features GeoGator Annabelle Zogaib
Future Plans:
Although my plans after graduation have been halted for the time being, as soon as nonessential businesses open back up, I plan to work as an in-hospital newborn photographer. There, I hope to build a client base for my business, AdventureAnnabelle Photography. My goal is to be a photographer that is present through all my clients’ biggest milestones – shooting births, First Communions, quinces, graduations, engagements, weddings, maternity sessions, and everything in between.
What is your favorite thing from your time at UF?
During my time at UF, I met many amazing individuals through my involvement in organizations. My involvement in Catholic Gators gave me the most beautiful friendships and allowed me to connect with my faith in a deeper way.
What was your favorite Geography class?
My favorite geography classes in general were all the GIS courses. While they were my most challenging and demanding, I always felt like I was learning real technical skills that I could put into any GIS job in the future.
What is your favorite Geography memory?
My favorite geography memory was when I finished my final project for Meteorology and Climatology and saw that I finally understood the material. All the trips to office hours were worth the satisfaction of fully understanding the material.
In what ways has Geography prepared you for your next steps?
Geography has given me a wealth of knowledge from understanding the earth’s processes and weather, to being able to map out data, to understanding the statistics behind polls. These skills will help abundantly in any career I decide to pursue.
What would your ideal job be?
My ideal job is running my own photography business, AdventureAnnabelle Photography. As a student at UF, I began building my professional photography portfolio as a graduation photographer. I hope to gain more experience working as an in-hospital newborn photographer as soon as we don’t have to social distance any longer. From there, I hope to build my client base and branch out to engagement and wedding photography.
What will you miss most about Gainesville/UF?
During my time at UF, I have lived at a house in the Southern Scholarship Foundation. This house provided me with a community of 23 women to live with. My favorite memories were made in the kitchen of that SSF house – it is where we had countless late-night conversations, community meals cooked, and where someone would always ask about your day.
What will you miss least about Gainesville/UF?
One thing I will not miss is figuring out my class schedule every semester!
What well wishes or words of wisdom would you like to share with your classmates and fellow students?
I have met countless intelligent and driven students during my time at UF. I know they will all succeed in their endeavors because that’s the Gator Way! I can’t wait to see what the class of 2020 is doing in a few years.
UF Geography wishes Annabelle and all our graduating seniors all the best as they embark on their next journey. Congratulations from all our GeoGator family and please be sure to stay in touch! #Geogators, #UFGEOG, #CLASGrads2020
