Abstract: This talk will present various studies exploring the primary atmospheric drivers of storm surge flooding and the drivers of coastal population migration due to flooding. We will discuss physics-based storm surge modeling and present applications of machine learning methods (e.g., artificial neural networks, random forest) in predicting storm surge levels and the social drivers of coastal relocation.

All are welcome to attend.
