Graduating Senior Jacob Myers

FloodsOur Senior Profile for UF Geography today features GeoGator Jacob Myers

What is your favorite thing from your time at UF?
Exploring the expanses of the UF campus as I walked from one location to another. There were a few instances where I would accidentally wander into some ambiguously distinguished woodlands or fraternity yards, but each time I had the opportunity to search around like this was a strangely adventurous experience.

What was your favorite Geography class?
Geography of Europe, a pleasant and easygoing course that nonetheless leaves a strong impression of the relationships that Europe’s nations have with each other.

What is your favorite Geography memory?
Gaining better insight into events and social circumstances that have occurred and continue to persist throughout the world through classes like Geography of Europe and Extreme Floods.

In what ways has Geography prepared you for your next steps?
Introduced me to several forms of previously unfamiliar software that are being employed throughout the world.

What will you miss most about Gainesville/UF?
The local group of hobbyists that I was able to join and speak with almost weekly throughout my stay in the university.

What will you miss least about Gainesville/UF?
The visibly exacerbated costs of housing.

What well wishes or words of wisdom would you like to share with your classmates and fellow students?
Continue to be safe as we move into the summer season. The ongoing pandemic has been concerningly unclear on when and how it will be resolved, but it shouldn’t be able to persist for too long.

UF Geography wishes Jacob and all our graduating seniors all the best as they embark on their next journey. Congratulations from all our GeoGator family and please be sure to stay in touch! #Geogators, #UFGEOG, #CLASGrads2020
