Geo3430 Population Geography Fall 2019
People need resources to survive. Are we approaching a critical mass of humans living on our planet? Will human ingenuity reconcile increasing population pressures with finite resources, while maintaining healthy & diverse environments? How can policy solutions ensure the benefits of innovation will extend to all peoples and places?
This course equips students to engage with challenging & controversial problems—population growth/loss, demographic shifts, family planning, migration patterns—using geographical data analysis & theoretical explanation.
