Two alums of 2014, Jessy Van Horn and James Richardson, shared the $500 prize for the best graduate student poster at SEDAAG 2014 despite completing the research as part of their undergraduate course in Models in Hydrology. Jessy is currently a graduate student at the University of East Carolina and James is a technician with a GIS company in Orlando. The research involved an analysis of the statistical properties of annual maximum ,mean and minimum flows in the Santa Fe River, 1932-2012. They identified changes that may have occurred in association with increased areas under center pivot irrigation in surrounding counties of north central Florida, and potential groundwater depletion.
