Research Statement

My research concentration is in climate science, with a focus on climate teleconnections, extreme precipitation, social vulnerability, GIS, Remote sensing and land-use patterns. My goal is to explore how large-scale climate teleconnections shape flood and extreme weather risk, and how that risk falls unevenly across communities. I aspire to deepen my understanding of both the physical drivers of these hazards and the human factors, like evacuation behavior, that shape how people respond to them. This knowledge will enable me to contribute to more equitable, evidence-based hazard mitigation and disaster preparedness efforts.
