Dissertation Topic: Understanding the Movement of Tropical Cyclones in Relation to the United States Gulf Coast

Research Statement: My research interests lie broadly in climatology and meteorology. My graduate research interest is focused on tropical cyclones and storm surge in the North Atlantic and in the Gulf of Mexico. My current research includes various sources of observational data (SURGEDAT, Tropical Cyclone Reports, HURDAT2). In my current and future research, I intend to explore the how tropical cyclones impact coastal cities and coastal populations.
