Dr. Steven M. Radil is a political geographer and geospatial scientist and the founder of GeoPublic Analytics, an international security research and consulting firm. He holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has held faculty appointments at the University of Idaho and the U.S. Air Force Academy. His work examines how geography shapes political violence and security dynamics, including civil war, insurgency, and terrorism, with a particular focus on West Africa. He combines GIS, spatial modeling, cartography, and social network analysis to deliver policy-relevant conflict mapping and risk analysis for governments, international organizations, and research institutes.
