More Mosquito Disease Days in 95% of Major U.S. Cities

Nearly all U.S. cities experienced an increase in mosquito disease days compared to the early 1970s, according to a new report published by Climate Central. The increase is particularly significant in the Southeast, Northeast, and Northwest of the United States.

Our colleague Dr. Sadie Ryan is one of the key experts of this new report which analyzes mosquito-borne diseases in 293 cities from 1970-2025.

Mosquito-border diseases are influenced by warming temperatures and other factors such as changing precipitation patterns, ecological change, and higher humidity.
