IDS2935 Global Patterns of STIs

IDS2935 Global Patterns of STIs

This class focuses on the geography of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), which have discrete and interesting patterns. STIs are stigmatized and misunderstood by the public, and culture plays a major role in control, prevention, and transmission. We will examine different bacterial and viral STIs and their control and how culture impacts prevention.

Class periods will consist of short lectures, activities, and discussions. As an introductory and interdisciplinary course, everyone is welcome. No pre-reqs and no required textbooks. Gen Ed B & D.

Fall 2020 Tuesday 10:40-11:30am and Thursday 10:40am-12:35pm synchronous online class meetings.
