Dr. Corene Matyas received a 2018-2019 Faculty Award from the Southeastern Conference to visit two SEC universities. In October 2018, she visited Mississippi State University where she was hosted by Dr. Kimberly Wood, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geosciences. In March, 2019, she visited the University of Tennessee and was hosted by Dr. Kelsey Ellis, an Assistant Professor of Geography. At both universities, she delivered presentations of her research, met with students to mentor women in STEM, exchanged ideas about course offerings, and explored opportunities for research collaboration.
